Well, today master took me to the vet for my rabies shot and a check up. At first I thought we were going to the park but on the way up the steps at the vet I smelled “the dreaded vet’s office” and balked. Master had to haul me up by my harness the last two steps. It wasn’t so bad but the place smells like scared puppies, dogs and cats. I don’t particularly dislike cats, and if they would hold still while I smelt them I think I would like them more. Anyway, I got my shot (I think, as I never felt it as the vet was pinching my skin which was bad enough) and the vet says I have a little arthritis (whatever that means) but otherwise I am healthy. He (and master Steve) think I need to lose about 5 pounds, but I like me they way I am. Master Steve tells me he’s going to limit my Chèvre so I don’t get to much fat in my diet. And I was getting to really enjoy kibble, blueberries and Chèvre for breakfast.
Well, I did get to go to the park afterwards and Steve didn’t rush me when I wanted to stop and smell the – whatever was there. Good news I’m healthy, bad news I’m on a diet. Steve says he wants me down to no more then 70 pounds by December and I’m 74 now. I don’t know how he’ll keep me from all the great stuff that’s out and around our place to eat like dead things, things alive that I catch other crap that I find on our walks (heh heh). I just hope he doesn’t cut me off of my table scraps. I watch him until he’s almost done then go into my routine to get him to let me lick the plate. It’s not a lot as he tends to eat just about everything but I like the taste and the bonding I have eating from his plate.
Well that’s enough for tonight. Happy trails. Master tells me just a few more week before we start our trek across the country (whatever that is). Woof woof and all that jazz
