Castle Lake

Hi it’s me again Rocky.  I had an interesting adventure today as my master (Steve) took me to Castle Lake near Mt. Shasta where we swam in the cool mountain waters in a glacial cirque. Master Steve told me all about it while we were hanging out around the lake.  The smells were terrific the trees, plants and even the rocks were different.  I didn’t like all the rocks and the hiking trail was a little iffy.  I think master Steve needs to find me AARD (American Association of Retired Dogs)  trails I’m getting too old for these rugged mountain trails

and my sight is getting worse all the time making it quite difficult for me to find the best pass through the rocks, vines, roots and bushes that were along the trail today.

However, I did have fun swimming I only wish there were less Rocks.  I know that might sound funny coming from a dog that’s named Rocky, but I’d rather bump into a tree then a rock.  Master Steve tells me the area was quite beautiful and that the view of Mt Shasta and Black Butte coming home was awesome.  I did see a little bit around the edges when we stopped to take a picture.  I hope you all can see the pictures that master Steve took and perhaps if you like them let master Steve know so he will continue to put up more. Oh, and you can leave a comment to let me know what you think of the pictures of me.

Fun chatting with you but the hike was at a high elevation, I’ve been fed and now I’m going to do what every good dog does more often than not – sleep.  Hasta amigos
